Who We Are
Mr. William J. Lasster, B.A., M.Eng.
William Lasseter began Avalon Mentors in 2019 after serving in private education for 25 years. He earned his BA and ME in English, as well as Certificate in Catholic Schools Leadership from the University of Dallas. He began his teaching career in Dallas, and after moving to Minnesota, has taught countless students in different classical and private schools in the Minneapolis metro area. Mr. Lasseter has also served as Dean of Students and Curriculum Director.
After COVID-19’s effect on their own children’s educational experiences, he and Mrs. Lasseter felt called to serve more families struggling to find outstanding options for their students in the brave new landscape of distance learning and micro schools.
In his spare time, Mr. Lasseter enjoys blogging, reading, playing guitar, gardening, watching and discussing films, and reading Shakespeare to the Facebook Live audience.
Mrs. Beth E. Lasseter, B.A.
Beth Lasseter is the President and Managing Partner of Avalon Mentors. Mrs. Lasseter also serves as the President of Savvy Consortium, LLC, carrying on a family business that brings together product development and engineering managers. She earned her BA in Philosophy (cum laude) from the University of Dallas in Irving, TX. She pursued teaching credentials for the Diocese of Dallas and completed graduate coursework in Theology at UD. She has traveled extensively in Europe and the United States with the Renaissance polyphonic group, The Collegium Cantorum, and has since both directed and participated in professional singing and small ensemble vocal performance groups.
Mrs. Lasseter also created the popular PALS Summer Day Camp program for Providence Academy, which combined with the existing summer program won Best in Plymouth for Summer Camp Programs in 2014. Mrs. Lasseter ran a popular summer cooking camp for students in elementary and middle school at Providence Academy alongside her mother, a retired culinary professional. Mrs. Lasseter loves working with students of all ages.
In her spare time, Mrs. Lasseter enjoys books, music, movies and travel with her husband and their five children.
